How does Discord Rich Presence work? +
ArchiveTune's Discord Rich Presence shows your currently playing track in your Discord profile. The Rich Presence text can be automatically translated to different languages.

Technical & Setup
What is "Smart Caching"? +
Smart Caching is ArchiveTune's intelligent data management system. It caches recently played songs and metadata to provide faster playback and reduce data usage. The system automatically manages cache size and optimizes based on your usage patterns.
How does background playback work? +
ArchiveTune's background playback uses Android's MediaSession to continue playing music even when the app isn't in the foreground. The system is optimized for battery efficiency and works with your device's notification controls.
Is my data private? +
ArchiveTune is privacy-centric and open-source. Your listening data is not sold or tracked by us. However, when you use YouTube Music features, you're still subject to Google's privacy policies. ArchiveTune's source code is publicly available for audit on GitHub.
What if YouTube Music isn't available in my region? +
If YouTube Music is not supported in your region, you'll need a VPN or proxy set to a supported region for initial data fetching. Once your library is cached locally, you may be able to use it without the VPN depending on your setup.
Is ArchiveTune affiliated with Google or YouTube? +
No, ArchiveTune is completely independent and not affiliated with Google LLC or YouTube. It's an unofficial third-party client developed by the Koiverse team. ArchiveTune does not bypass YouTube's technical protections and respects all platform guidelines.
